Skip Holtz, the head coach of USF football, a man who hasn't been in Tampa a whole two months and still living at the Embassy Suites hotel on USF campus has become the man of the town and practice hasn't even begun. Last night was the first "Inside Skip" segment that Holtz and the athletic department put on for fans, alumni and everyone. The pep rally themed hall meeting allowed Holtz to interact with everyone, answer tons of questions and get to know people in the area much better than ever before. Fans could ask questions live, on twitter (Holtz says he will be active on it forever!) and set out plans for the team this year and truly inspire the Bulls Nation.
Holtz is the media darling for the Bulls, a far cry from the cold and distant Leavitt who almost seemed to hate the media and take it personal, Holtz on the other hand wants to shake their hands and sit down with them. He has already done more media events than Leavitt did during his entire tenure up to this point and he isn't stopping there. His "Inside Skip" is going across the day to other stops and the fans are following him there, or simply going onto twitter and asking him questions or just hearing the important news from him. Holtz has said that he wants to win over the fan base, one fan at a time, it seems that he has already won thousands and the Bulls aren't even on the field yet. Holtz for president in 2012!
