Saturday night at 7, the men's basketball team takes on Providence in the Sun Dome. The Friars are reeling, loosing 5 straight by an average of 15 points a game. They were defeated by USF on their home court in double overtime when Jones went for 47 points against them and led USF on a school record 4 straight Big East victories and had the nation taking notice of that team in Tampa.
USF has fallen flat, loosing at home against lowly St. Johns and being pounded by Villanova, all tournament hopes are gone by now but it will be interesting to see how the Bulls come out and play. Will Heath fire up his team and wake them up and try to get them to play for a better record, the first winning one since 1992 and defend the home court? Jones needs to take over like he did earlier and call his team out. Gilchrist is not the game, Famous is quiet, Howard is not as vocal and the bench is struggling to help produce, it is time for the hopeful all-American to rally his team and finish the season strong and hopefully make some news in the Big East Tournament.
Providence would like to come into our house and upset the Bulls and the way they are shooting and protecting the ball (22 turnovers against Nova) it just may happen. I hope the team rallies, Heath instills some hope into them and the student section is rocking as the Bulls try to get back to the winning ways to end the season.
